Why teams move

What you get with MigoSMTP

Pay in rupees

INR and EUR billing, GST invoices for India and UPI payment.

Start free

A free plan of 1,000 emails a month lets you test end to end before you move real traffic.

Clear entry pricing

Starter is ₹799 a month for 10,000 emails, so you can compare it with your current bill.

Standard SMTP ports

Port 587 with STARTTLS and port 465 with implicit TLS, so most apps need credentials only.

Dedicated IPs when you need them

A dedicated IP is an add-on on Growth and Scale and is included on Enterprise.

A move you control

Authenticate both providers, shift one stream at a time and keep a fallback until you are sure.

Before you start

Have these ready

Admin access to your SendLayer account
Access to DNS for your sending domains
An export of bounces and unsubscribes
A list of SMTP users, API keys and webhooks
The plan

A migration in five steps, in three phases

Step 1

Audit

List your domains, keys, templates, webhooks and suppressions.

Before changing anything, list what SendLayer does for you today: sending domains, API and SMTP keys, templates, webhooks, suppression lists and any integration that sends through it. A complete inventory prevents the surprises behind most failed migrations, such as a forgotten webhook or a script still using an old key.

  • Sending domains and subdomains
  • Keys, templates and webhooks in use
  • Bounce and unsubscribe exports
Step 2

Authenticate

Add MigoSMTP DNS records alongside the old ones.

Add MigoSMTP's SPF, DKIM and DMARC records alongside your existing SendLayer records instead of replacing them. Both providers can then send for your domain at the same time, so you can verify the new setup without interrupting live mail.

  • Publish the new records
  • Verify before sending
  • Keep old records until cutover is done
Step 3

Rebuild

Recreate templates and webhooks, import suppressions.

Recreate your templates and webhooks in MigoSMTP and import the suppression lists you exported from SendLayer, so people who bounced or unsubscribed are not emailed again on day one. Where SendLayer concepts differ from ours, the mapping table further down shows what to use.

  • Domains and senders → Domain authentication
  • SMTP users → SMTP credentials
  • API keys → Scoped API keys
Step 4

Cut over

Shift traffic in stages and watch delivery.

Move traffic in stages, a low-risk stream first and then the rest, while watching delivery, bounces and complaints. Keep SendLayer configured as a fallback until the new path has proved itself.

  • Start with one stream
  • Compare delivery side by side
  • Keep a rollback path
Step 5

Retire

Remove old records and keys once stable.

Once delivery has been stable for a while, remove the old DNS records, revoke the old keys and cancel the SendLayer subscription, in that order.

  • Revoke old keys first
  • Wait a week
  • Then remove old records

Overview

How do I move from SendLayer to MigoSMTP?

To move from SendLayer to MigoSMTP, list your sending domains, SMTP users, API keys, webhooks and the sites or plugins that send through it, then authenticate your domains with MigoSMTP while the SendLayer records stay in place. Create SMTP credentials or scoped keys, point webhooks at your handler, and move one site or stream at a time. For SMTP senders the change is often a new host, username and password.

SendLayer's pricing page lists a trial of 200 emails rather than a monthly free plan, and a Starter plan at $5 a month for 1,000 emails when billed annually. Its SMTP page lists port 587 for TLS and port 465 for SSL. Limits are per account: for example Starter is capped at 50 emails a minute and 500 a day, with one sender domain and three days of log retention. Webhooks are included on all plans. We did not find inbound email parsing or dedicated IPs on the pages we read.

MigoSMTP documents port 587 with STARTTLS and port 465 with implicit TLS. MigoSMTP has a free plan of 1,000 emails a month, dedicated IPs are an add-on on Growth and Scale and are included on Enterprise, and we offer INR and EUR billing, GST invoices for India and UPI payment. These SendLayer details are from sendlayer.com, read on 30 October 2026; check their live pages before you decide.

Use cases

Ways to move from SendLayer

Swap SMTP credentials first

If an application sends over SMTP, create MigoSMTP credentials, change the host, username and password in staging, and send a test. That is often the whole change for that application.

Check the port

Test port 587 or 465 from the same server before you commit. A blocked port is the most common reason an SMTP move fails on day one.

Move API callers one at a time

Map the fields your code sends to SendLayer onto the MigoSMTP send call, change one service at a time, and compare the results before you move the next.

Recreate sender verification

Authenticate each sending domain in MigoSMTP and keep both sets of DNS records until the move is complete.

Re-point webhooks

Map the events your code uses, such as delivered, bounced and spam complaint, update the endpoint, and verify signatures in the new payload.

Import suppressions

Export bounced and unsubscribed addresses from SendLayer and import them before the first send so you never mail a known bad address.

How we help

Help with the move from SendLayer

DNS

Check both providers can send

Use the free SPF, DKIM and DMARC checker to confirm that your domain authorises SendLayer and MigoSMTP at the same time before you move any traffic.

Warmup

Plan the warmup

If you move to a dedicated IP, the IP warmup calculator gives you a day-by-day volume ramp so reputation builds steadily.

Bounces

Read bounce codes during the overlap

While both providers run, the bounce code lookup turns raw SMTP responses into plain explanations and a suggested fix.

Review

Review the cutover order

Send our team your list of streams and rough volumes and ask for a review of the order in which to move them. This is offered on request.

The checker, calculator and lookup are free tools on this site. The cutover review is a conversation with our team, and you decide every change in your own account.

Best practices

Migration best practices

Test from the real server

Run a send from the machine that will send in production, not from your laptop. Network rules differ and you want to find them early.

Authenticate both providers

Publish SPF and DKIM for MigoSMTP while keeping SendLayer's records so both can send during the overlap.

Use the free plan to test

MigoSMTP has a free plan of 1,000 emails a month, so you can test end to end before you move real traffic.

Watch deferrals by domain

During the overlap, compare deferral and complaint rates by recipient domain between the two providers.

Plan for support

Decide what support you need during and after the move, and ask us what each MigoSMTP plan includes.

Retire in order

Remove the old credentials first, wait a week, then remove old DNS records.

FAQs

SendLayer: frequently asked questions

Moving from SendLayer? Our team can review your senders and ports before you start.

How do I migrate from SendLayer to MigoSMTP?

Authenticate your domains with MigoSMTP alongside SendLayer, create credentials or API keys, update webhooks, import suppressions, and move one stream at a time. For SMTP senders the change is usually a new host, username and password.

Is the migration really free, and is it done in 2 working hours?

Yes. Migration is free, we guarantee it is done within 2 working hours, and there is no downtime because both providers run in parallel until you are ready to cut over.

Is MigoSMTP better than SendLayer?

Not in every way, and that is the honest answer. SendLayer publishes low entry prices and simple plans for small sites. MigoSMTP's strengths are INR and EUR billing, GST invoices, UPI, dedicated IPs on higher plans and a free plan of 1,000 emails a month. Choose on what matters to you.

Which SMTP ports does MigoSMTP support?

Port 587 with STARTTLS and port 465 with implicit TLS, the same two ports SendLayer's SMTP page lists.

Does SendLayer have a free plan?

SendLayer's pricing page lists a 200 email trial, not a monthly free plan. MigoSMTP's free plan has 1,000 emails a month.

Do I get a dedicated IP?

Dedicated IPs are an add-on on Growth and Scale and are included on Enterprise. We did not find dedicated IPs on SendLayer's pages.

Can I run both at once?

Yes. Authenticate both and move a small share first.

When should I stay on SendLayer?

If you depend on a feature, port or support channel that MigoSMTP does not offer, staying is sensible. Test before you decide.

Where did you get the SendLayer details?

From SendLayer's public pricing, SMTP, rate limit and webhook pages, read on 30 October 2026. Check their live pages before you decide.
